Roslyn, WA

Roslyn is a small town located in the Puget Sound region of Washington. The population of Roslyn was just over 2,000 as of the 2010 census. The town is situated on the eastern shore of Lake Washington and is bordered by Kirkland to the north, Redmond to the east, Bellevue to the south, and Issaquah to the west.

The history of Roslyn can be traced back to 1892 when a group of settlers from Illinois landed in what is now known as Kirkland. They named their settlement after Roslyn, New York, where some of them had lived before moving west. In 1909, a post office was established in Roslyn and by 1911 it had grown enough that it was incorporated as a town. The town's economy at this time was based largely on agriculture and logging; however, with the arrival of World War II there began an influx of workers into Seattle who needed housing. This led to an increase in housing prices in Roslyn which made it difficult for many people who were already living there to afford homes. As a result, Roslyn began experiencing a decline in population starting around 1970; however, since then it has seen modest growth thanks largely to its location and access to amenities such as Lake Washington and its many recreational opportunities.

Real estate in Roslyn can be classified into three main categories: single-family homes (which make up most of the market), condos/townhomes (which are becoming increasingly popular), and commercial properties (which are typically located near businesses). Single-family homes typically range in price from $200,000-$1 million while condos/townhomes go for $250-$500 thousand and commercial properties can cost anywhere from $10 thousand-$100 million+. Given that Roslyn is such a small town with limited land available for development, prices are generally quite high compared to other areas in Washington state.

One downside associated with living in Roslyn is that it can be quite difficult to find parking spaces; this problem has been exacerbated by recent developments such as condominiums which often feature large garages but few if any street parking spaces nearby. Another issue facing residents is noise pollution; although not as bad as some other towns located near major cities such as Seattle or Bellevue, noise levels can still be quite high at night due to traffic or construction activities nearby. However, despite these drawbacks overall life in Roslyn tends to be pleasant and enjoyable thanks largely to its close proximity bothto Seattle (just over 30 minutes away)and Bellevue (just over 45 minutes away).
