South Bend, WA

South Bend is a city located in King County, Washington. The population was 27,906 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Seattle metropolitan area.

The city of South Bend was founded in 1881 and incorporated on May 2, 1906. The city's name comes from the St. Joseph River which flows through it. South Bend is home to several businesses and industries including aircraft manufacturing, technology companies, automotive parts suppliers and research facilities. The Boeing Company has a large presence in South Bend with its headquarters located there as well as its commercial airplane production facility. Other major employers include Microsoft Corporation (headquartered in Redmond), Amazon Web Services (an American cloud computing company) and Expedia (a global travel company).

Real estate in South Bend is primarily made up of single-family homes and apartments with a mix of new construction and remodeling projects underway or recently completed. There are also a number of commercial properties available for lease or purchase including office space, industrial buildings and retail spaces. Average prices for residential properties range from $300,000 to $1 million while commercial properties can be purchased for an average of $2 million to $5 million.

South Bend is served by two highways: I-5 runs north-south through the center of town while SR 520 travels east-west across the southern part of town connecting Seattle with Tacoma via I-405/SR 522 interchange just south of town
