Gasquet, CA

Gasquet is a small town located in the San Joaquin Valley, in California. The population of Gasquet was 4,816 as of the 2010 census. The town is located about 20 miles east of Bakersfield and about 10 miles west of Hanford.

The town was founded in 1887 by J.D. Gasquet and named for him. The first business in Gasquet was a general store that sold goods to settlers who were coming into the area to farm and ranch. In 1889, J.D. Gasquet built the first hotel in Gasquet, which served as a stop on the stagecoach line between Bakersfield and Hanford.

Today, gas stations are still a common sight throughout Gasquet, but there are also several businesses that provide services related to real estate: real estate agents, mortgage lenders, home builders/contractors, etc..
