Leggett, CA

Leggett is a small town located in the Central Valley of California. The population of Leggett was just over 2,000 as of the 2010 census. The town is situated on the eastern edge of Tulare County and is bordered by Visalia to the south and east, Hanford to the north, and Porterville to the west.

The history of Leggett can be traced back to 1852 when John Leggett settled in what is now known as Leggett. At that time, it was part of Tulare County. In 1884, a post office was established in Leggett and it became an incorporated city in 1916. The city's economy has been based largely on agriculture since its inception; however, over time there has been a significant increase in commercial and industrial development. Today, Leggett is home to several businesses including a dairy plant, an oil refinery, a chicken processing plant, and several small businesses that provide services to these industries.
