Utica is a city located in Johnson County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 10,906. The city is home to the Utica Memorial Hospital and Utica College.

Utica has a long history dating back to 1871 when it was founded as a railroad town. The city's economy was based on agriculture and manufacturing until the early 20th century. In 1907, Utica became one of the first cities in Kansas to have electric streetlights. By 1930, Utica had become a major center for automotive production with plants producing Ford and Chevrolet models.

The Great Depression hit Utica hard and by 1940 only 10 percent of the population were employed in manufacturing jobs. However, during World War II the city saw a resurgence as it became home to several military bases including Fort Riley and Camp Robinson. After World War II, Utica's economy shifted towards services such as health care and education.

Today, Utica is an important center for healthcare with Memorial Hospital being one of the largest employers in town.
