Methuen, MA

Methuen is a city located in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 66,925 at the 2010 census. Methuen is part of the Greater Boston metropolitan area.

The first Europeans to visit what would become Methuen were the Pilgrims in 1620. The area that would become Methuen was part of Charlestown before it became its own town in 1785. The town's economy was based on agriculture and textiles until the early 20th century when it began to industrialize. Today, Methuen is an important center for health care and technology with a diverse economy that includes information technology, biotechnology, and medical devices manufacturing.
