Berlin, NJ

Berlin is a borough in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough's population was 9,898,[10][11] reflecting an increase of 1,527 (+23.2%) from the 7,906 counted in the 2000 Census.[12]

The borough was formed on April 1, 1894,[13] from portions of East Brunswick Township and Woodbridge Township.[14][15] The borough is named for Berlin in Germany.[16][17]

According to the United States Census Bureau, Berlin has a total area of 2.7 square miles (6.9 km2), all land.[18]

As of the census[19] of 2000, there were 7,906 people, 3,048 households, and 2,383 families residing in the borough. The population density was 2,521.4 people per square mile (981.3/km²). There were 3,269 housing units at an average density of 993.0 per square mile (381.1/km²). The racial makeup of the borough was 98.92% White , 0.24% African American , 0.05% Native American , 0.29% Asian , 0 .02% Pacific Islander , 0 .08% from other races , and 0 .68% from two or more races . Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1 .09%
