Clementon is a borough in Gloucester County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough's population was 10,811,[10] reflecting an increase of 1,724 (+29.5%) from the 7,912 counted in the 2000 Census.[19]

The borough was formed on April 6, 1894 from portions of Deptford Township and Woodbury Township,[20] and was named for Clementon Township founder Clement L. Moore.[21][22][23] The borough's first mayor was George W. Fenton.[24]

In 1892 Clementon became one of the first municipalities in New Jersey to adopt a commission form of government.[25][26][27] The current form of government was adopted on January 1, 1973.[28][29]

According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough had a total area of 2.898 square miles (7.362 km2), including 2.898 square miles (7.362 km2) of land and 0.004 square mile (0.010 km2) of water (0.06%).[1][10] Clementon is located within both Gloucester County and Atlantic County.[30][31] The borough borders Deptford Township to the north; Woodbury Township to the east; Camden City to the south; and Westville to the west.[32][33]

The Cohansey River forms part of its southern border with Camden City[34].

The climate in this area is characterized by hot summers and generally mild to cool winters. According to Köppen Climate Classification system, Clementon has a humid subtropical climate, abbreviated "Cfa" on climate maps.[35]:3
