Highland Park, NJ

Highland Park is a borough in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough's population was 10,869,[11][12] reflecting an increase of 536 (+5.4%) from the 10,236 counted in the 2000 Census,[13] which had in turn increased by 1,716 (+14.1%) from the 8,972 counted in the 1990 Census.[14]

The borough was formed on April 12, 1894,[15] from portions of Ridgefield Township and Harrison Township.[16][17][18] The borough is named for its highlands (the area's hilly topography).[19][20][21]

Highland Park is located at 40°37′24″N 74°10′48″W / 40.6300°N 74.1700°W / 40.6300; -74.1700 (40.6753,-74.2193). According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of 2.8 square miles (7.1 km2), all of it land.[1]

As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 10,236 people, 4,906 households and 3,146 families residing in the borough
