Kendall Park is a township in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the township's population was 10,715,[8][9] reflecting an increase of 551 (+5.4%) from the 9,898 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 1,711 (+14.2%) from the 8,527 counted in the 1990 Census.[10]
The township was formed on April 15, 1894,[11] from portions of Hackensack Township and Saddle River Township.[12][13] The boroughs of Leonia and Wood-Ridge were annexed to Kendall Park as part of this process.[14][15]
The township is located between Paramus and Saddle River on the east side of Bergen County and is bordered by Closter on the north; Ridgefield Park on the west; Hasbrouck Heights on the south; and Rutherford on the east. The Hackensack River forms its eastern border with Saddle River Township[16] before flowing into Passaic County.
According to Forbes magazine's 2018 list of America's Best Places to Live,[17] Kendall Park ranks number one for best place to raise a family[18], number two for lowest crime rates[19], number four for best schools[20], and number six for lowest unemployment rate.[21].
