Ledgewood is a township in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the township's population was 13,827,[10][11] reflecting an increase of 1,539 (+14.1%) from the 10,912 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 2,716 (+29.2%) from the 8,868 counted in the 1990 Census.[19] Ledgewood was formed as a result of an act of the New Jersey Legislature on February 21, 1894,[20] from portions of Hackensack Township and Ramsey Township.[21][22]

The township borders Hackensack to the north; Ramsey and Secaucus to the east; Ridgefield Park to the south; and Rutherford to the west. The Passaic River forms its eastern border with Ridgefield Park and Secaucus while its western border is formed by Route 495 (River Road). Interstate 80 passes through Ledgewood just south of its border with Rutherford.[25][26][27][28][29]
