Whitehouse Station is a township in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the township's population was 9,876,[11][12] reflecting an increase of 551 (+5.1%) from the 8,814 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 1,906 (+10.4%) from the 7,769 counted in the 1990 Census.[13]
The township was formed on March 3, 1894,[14] from portions of Clinton Township and Flemington Township.[15][16] The name Whitehouse Station is derived from a railroad station on the Reading Railroad (now SEPTA) that served as a stop for passengers travelling between Philadelphia and New York City.[17][18]
According to the United States Census Bureau, Whitehouse Station has a total area of 2.2 square miles (5.7 km2), all of it land.[19]
