Goldston is a small town located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in western North Carolina. The population was just over 1,000 as of the 2010 census, making it one of the smaller towns in western North Carolina. Goldston is located just off Interstate 85 and is within easy driving distance of Asheville, Hendersonville, and Waynesville.
The town's economy is based largely on agriculture and tourism. Goldston has a number of small businesses that cater to tourists visiting the area, including a bed and breakfast, a restaurant, a general store, and a gas station/convenience store. There are also several farms in the area that produce hay, corn, soybeans, wheat berries, apples, peaches and other fruit trees.
