Rowlett, TX

Rowlett is a city located in Dallas County, Texas, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population was 94,569. It is part of the Dallas– Fort Worth– Arlington metropolitan area.

The city was founded in 1886 and named for Rowland H. Tilton, a railroad official. The first post office opened in 1888. Rowlett is home to the Rowlett Independent School District and four colleges: Southern Methodist University- Dallas (SMU-D), University of North Texas (UNT), Trinity Valley Community College (TVCC) and Southwestern Adventist University (SAU).
