Wilmington, North Carolina is located in the southeastern corner of the state and is bordered by South Carolina to the south, Virginia to the west, and Georgia to the east. The city has a population of around 120,000 people and is considered a medium-sized city. Wilmington was founded in 1792 as part of New Hanover County and became an independent city in 1847. It was named after Sir Walter Raleigh, one of the founders of North America.

This increased to $179,900 by December 2016 and then increased again by 5% to reach $186,100 as of January 2017. These increases have been largely due to strong demand from buyers who are looking for quality homes at reasonable prices in a desirable location. There has been some speculation that this trend may be slowing down somewhat due to increasing interest rates but overall it seems that home buyers remain very interested in purchasing homes in Wilmington.
