The Price of Home in Menifee, CA

Menifee is a city located in Riverside County, California. The population was 107,269 at the 2010 census. Menifee is known for its high-end real estate market and its proximity to Los Angeles. The city has a Mediterranean climate with hot summers and mild winters.

The first Europeans to explore the area that would become Menifee were the Spanish in 1769. In 1823, Manuel Nieto purchased Rancho San Bernardino from the native Tongva people for $1,200. Nieto built a home on this land which he named Rancho San Bernardino de las Palmas (Ranch of the Beautiful Palm Trees). In 1874, James Irvine and his brother William bought Rancho San Bernardino from Nieto for $75,000. They renamed it Orange County after the orange trees that grew abundantly on their property.

In 1886, Irvine built what is now known as The Plaza at Menifee which served as Orange County's first courthouse and public square. In 1889, he founded what would become UC Irvine (then called Orange County College) on part of his ranch land. By 1900, Irvine had subdivided much of his land into residential lots and began marketing them to wealthy Angelenos eager to escape the smoggy conditions of Los Angeles. As Menifee's population grew in tandem with that of Orange County during the early 20th century, so too did its real estate market; by 1930 there were already 1,500 homes in Menifee valued at over $100,000 each!

During World War II (1939-1945), many men enlisted or were drafted into military service; this led to an unprecedented demand for housing throughout Southern California as servicemen returned home after fighting overseas. Consequently, prices continued to rise even further in Menifee as new homeowners sought to take advantage of record-breaking wartime profits. By 1950 there were already 10,000 homes worth over $250K apiece within city limits!

Today's Menifee real estate market is still considered one of the most affluent in all of California; according to Forbes magazine it ranks #5 out of 522 US cities when measured by median household income! This high level of affluence has led many people within city limits to invest large sums of money into purchasing property – both single family homes and multi-unit properties – either as primary residences or investment properties intended for rental purposes .

One notable aspect of Menifee's real estate market is its diversity; not only does it encompass a wide range in price points (from affordable starter homes up through some of Southern California's most luxurious estates), but also it offers buyers an unparalleled selection when it comes to styles (from traditional suburban neighborhoods through gated communities fullof luxury amenities such as private pools and tennis courts). Additionally , due to its close proximity both to Los Angeles proper and major entertainment hubs such as Universal Studios Hollywood and Disneyworld Resort , Menifee has long been popular among celebrities seeking refuge from L A 's notoriously high costof living .
