Eastlake, MI

Eastlake is a small town located in Oakland County, Michigan. The population of Eastlake was 2,287 at the 2010 census. Eastlake is known for its quaint downtown area and its many historic homes. Eastlake has a rich history dating back to the early 1800s when it was first settled by farmers and lumberjacks. Today, Eastlake is home to many businesses and residents who enjoy shopping at local boutiques and farmers markets, taking walks along the lakeshore or biking trails, and enjoying live music in the downtown district.

Eastlake is located in southeastern Oakland County just off I-75 near Pontiac. The town is bordered by Rochester Hills to the north, Auburn Hills to the east, Royal Oak to the south and Clawson Township to the west. The town's main thoroughfare is Main Street which runs north-south through downtown Eastlake. There are also several side streets that intersect with Main Street including Maple Avenue (east), Elm Avenue (west), Jefferson Avenue (north) and Washington Boulevard (south).

East Lake's downtown district features several historic homes including Maple Manor on Maple Avenue, The Brethren on Elm Avenue, The Oaks on Jefferson Avenue and The Mansion on Washington Boulevard. These homes date back to the early 1800s when they were first settled by farmers and lumberjacks. Today, they are popular tourist destinations for visitors from around Metro Detroit who come to explore their architecture and history. Downtown Eastlake also features several businesses including a bank branch (The Huntington Bank), two restaurants (Pizza House & Java Joe's Coffee House), two convenience stores (7-Eleven & Circle K) as well as a variety of other shops such as jewelers, clothing stores etc.. There are also several parks located within walking distance of downtown including Lakeside Park on Washington Boulevard which features a playground as well as a pond with fishing opportunities; Heritage Park on Elm Avenue which features an amphitheater; Veterans Memorial Park on Jefferson Ave which includes a baseball diamond; Northside Park on Maple Ave which includes basketball courts; Central Park at Pinecrest Apartments which includes tennis courts; plus numerous smaller parks throughout the town that offer residents an opportunity for recreation or relaxation.

The majority of East Lake's residential properties are single family detached homes although there are some duplexes scattered throughout the town limits. Most of these homes were built in the late 1960s through 1990s but there are some older properties dating back to before 1900 that can be found in certain neighborhoods such as Olde Towne or Lakeside Heights.. Prices for single family detached homes range from around $200K - $500K while duplexes typically sell for around $150K - $300K.. Average monthly mortgage payments for homeownership in East Lake range from around $1K - $2K depending on property size/location.. Home values have increased steadily over recent years due to strong demand from local residents and tourists alike.. As of 2016 median home prices had reached an all time high of over $475K according to Zillow data!
