Lakewood, NJ

Lakewood is a borough in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough's population was 21,890, reflecting an increase of 1,090 (+5.4%) from the 20,530 counted in the 2000 Census.

Lakewood is located at 40°11′N 74°37′W (40.180000°N 74.630000°W).

According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough had a total area of 2.716 square miles (6.971 km2), including 2.651 square miles (6.811 km2) of land and 0.043 square mile (0.1 km2) of water (0.14%).

The borough borders Hackensack to the north and east; Union City to the south and west; and Paramus to the northwest across Saddle River The Saddle River forms part of its eastern border with Paramus Township while its western border is formed by Route 17 along which are situated several commercial businesses such as a Costco store and a Home Depot store as well as residential neighborhoods such as Glen Ridge Estates and Ridgewood Park . Lakewood also has access to Interstate 80 through Exit 15B on Route 17 . The George Washington Bridge connects Lakewood with Fort Lee in Hudson County across Upper New York Bay . There are two airports within commuting distance: Newark Liberty International Airport , which is about 10 minutes away by car or train; and LaGuardia Airport , about 25 minutes away by car or train on I-495/Route 3 .
