Glenside is a borough in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 10,876 at the 2010 census. Glenside is located at 40°50′41″N 75°2′39″W / 40.869444°N 75.047222°W / 40.869444; -75.047222 (40.869544, -75.048333).
The borough of Glenside is located in the eastern part of Montgomery County and borders Upper Darby Township to the east and northeast, Cheltenham Township to the south and southwest, and Lansdale Borough to the west and northwest. The borough has a total area of , all land except for a small portion along Cheltenham Creek that is occupied by Cheltenham University's campus (the university also owns much of Glenside's residential land).
The main road through Glenside runs north-south along Cheltenham Avenue which intersects with Ridge Road just east of town before continuing on as Glenwood Avenue which leads into Upper Darby Township to the west and southwest. Pennsylvania Route 202 passes through Glenside as does PA 611 which leads north to Lansdale Borough and south to West Chester Township in Delaware County; both routes have major intersections with Cheltenham Avenue within Glenside's boundaries. PA 202 leads northeast into Upper Darby Township while PA 611 heads southeast towards West Chester Township proper before turning east onto Bristol Pike towards King Of Prussia Mall in King Of Prussia City limits just outside Philadelphia city limits; both routes have junctions with Ridge Road within Glenside's boundaries as well as US 30 near its southern border with Upper Darby Township
Glenwood Avenue forms the northern border of Glenside while Ridge Road forms its eastern border with Upper Darby Township on the north side while US 30 forms its southern border with Cheltenham Township on both sides
Cheltenham Creek flows through central Glenside from northwest to southeast before joining Fountain Run near Ardmore Regional Park just outside town
There are no incorporated municipalities within Glensides borders although there are several unincorporated communities including Ardmore Village (just south of Ardmore Regional Park), Glenville (just west of town), Easttowne (just east of Glenwood Avenue), Lower Merion Station (located between Merion Station mall on Route 202 and Lower Merion High School), Pennbrook Village (between Pennbrook Shopping Center on Route 202 and Pennbrook Farms), Quakertown Heights (between Quakertown Mall on Routes 202 & 611)
Glenville was once an independent municipality but it merged into Glenside in 1974 after being annexed by Montgomery County Easttowne was annexed by East Norriton township in 1996 while Lower Merion Station was annexed by Norristown Borough in 2002 Pennbrook Village became part of Hatboro- Horsham township when it split from Horsham township in 2003 Quakertown Heights became part of Warminster township when Warminster split from Bucks county in 2004 . There are several other unincorporated communities located within or close to GLENSIDE'S BOUNDARIES including: Spring Mill Estates, Indian Springs Estates, White Oak Estates, Stonegate Estates, Valley View Estates among others .
