Lakehurst, NJ

Lakehurst is a borough in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough's population was 10,827,[7][8] reflecting an increase of 1,521 (+25.2%) from the 8,912 counted in the 2000 Census,[9] which had in turn increased by 2,836 (+38.1%) from the 6,480 counted in the 1990 Census.[10]

According to the United States Census Bureau, Lakehurst has a total area of 3.4 square miles (8.7 km2), all of it land.[12]

The borough borders Hackensack and Saddle River Township to the north; Ramsey and Union City to the east; Paramus and Franklin Lakes to the south; and Closter and Hillsdale to the west. The Passaic River forms its eastern border with Saddle River Township.[13][14][15][16][17] Interstate 80 runs through town on its way from Newark to Manhattan via Paterson[18]. The New York State Thruway (Interstate 87) also passes through town on its way from Newark to Albany.[19] NJ Transit bus routes serving Lakehurst include route 440 which connects it with Hoboken Terminal[20], route 441 which connects it with Secaucus Junction[21], and routes 462 and 465 which connect it with Harrison Station[22].
