Pine Brook is a township in Morris County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the township's population was 8,873,[10][11] reflecting an increase of 676 (+5.2%) from the 7,906 counted in the 2000 Census.[12]
The township was formed on April 10, 1894 by an act of the New Jersey Legislature from portions of Denville Township and Pohatcong Township.[13] The name is derived from a small pine grove near where the township's first settler lived.[14]
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township had a total area of 5.739 square miles (14.068 km2), including 5.737 square miles (14.059 km2) of land and 0.008 square mile (0.020 km2) of water (0.02%).[1][15]
